iContact’s easy to use, intuitive interface will quickly help beginners focus on the tasks required and not get lost.
What We Liked
A well-labelled layout keeps you from getting lost. All tasks boil down to four intuitive tabs: My Contacts, Create, Send, and Track. For a beginner new to email marketing iContact may be the way to get your beak wet. List segmentation goes beyond demographic segmenting with the ability to target your subscribers based on opens, clicks, un-opens etc. This powerful feature can help you target active or inactive members separately. A text copy of the HTML version is a good practice. We like iContact’s insistence that you include a text version along with the HTML. This has two benefits: users accessing the email from non-HTML clients will get to the read your message. Secondly, its presence will increase deliverability rates.
Gaps to Watch
Personalization while available requires reading the help documentation. You need to insert the code manually. This can get confusing and irritating for those who are not technically savvy.
Review Summary
Makes it easy for beginners while providing room to grow. Powerful segmentation capabilities but lacks conversion integration. Overall, we give iContact 4 stars.
